Scene-designer
Fedor Fedorovsky was born to a family of railway worker. He spent his childhood in Moscow. Fedorovsky studied at the department of decorative arts in the Stroganov School of Industrial Art. He studied under the guidance of K. A. Korovin and M. A. Vrubel.
Fedorovsky participated in exhibitions since 1906. He lectured in the Stroganov School, later — in the Hither State Artistic and Technical Workshops (VKhUTEMAS).
Fedorovsky worked as a scene-designer in the S. Zimin’s Private Opera, the Bolshoi Theatre, and Leningrad theatre named after S. M. Kirov. He also designed performances of S. Dyagilev in Paris and London in 1912–1913.
In 1951 Fedor Fedorovsky was conferred title of the People’s Artist of the USSR. In 1947–1953 he was vice-president of the USSR Academy of Arts.
